Chlorodifluoromethane Hydrodechlorination on Carbon-Supported Pd-Pt Catalysts. Beneficial Effect of Catalyst Oxidation

چکیده
Previously tested 2 wt % palladium-platinum catalysts supported on Norit activated carbon preheated to 1600 °C have been reinvestigated in CHFCl2 hydrodechlorination. An additionally adopted catalyst oxidation at 350–400 produced nearly an order of magnitude increase the turnover frequency Pd/C, from 4.1 × 10−4 2.63 10−3 s−1. This is not caused by changes metal dispersion or possible decontamination Pd surface superficial carbon, but rather unlocking active surface, originally inaccessible particles tightly packed pores carbon. Burning pore walls attached structure, providing easier access for reactants entire palladium surface. Calcination Pt/C and Pd-Pt/C results much smaller evolution catalytic activity than that observed Pd/C. shapes relationship between (TOF) alloy composition, which now does confirm Pd-Pt synergy invoked previous work. The absence this confirmed gradual regular product selectivity, 70 80% towards CH2F2 Pd/C almost 60% CH4 Pt/C. use even higher-preheated (1800 °C), completely free micropores, a need be oxidized achieve high excellent selectivity (>90%).

Electro-catalytic oxidation of CO on Pt catalyst supported on carbon nanotubes pretreated with oxidative acids
Characteristics of nanosized Pt electro-catalyst deposited on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were studied with CO-stripping voltammogram and chronoamperometry measurements. The CNTs were pretreated by oxidation in HNO3, mixed HNO3 + H2SO4 and H2SO4 + K2Cr2O7 solution, respectively, to enable surface modification. Well-homogenized Pt particles (average size: 3 nm) were loaded onto the pretreated CNT sa...
متن کاملOxidation of CO and Methanol on Pd-Ni Catalysts Supported on Different Chemically-Treated Carbon Nanofibers
In this work, palladium-nickel nanoparticles supported on carbon nanofibers were synthesized, with metal contents close to 25 wt % and Pd:Ni atomic ratios near to 1:2. These catalysts were previously studied in order to determine their activity toward the oxygen reduction reaction. Before the deposition of metals, the carbon nanofibers were chemically treated in order to generate oxygen and nit...
متن کاملNitrogen functionalized carbon nanostructures supported Pd and Au-Pd NPs as catalyst for alcohols oxidation
Two different carbon nanotubes (CNTs) PR24-PS and Baytubes were functionalized by oxidation with nitric acid and further amination with gaseous NH3. Thus Au and Au-Pd nanoparticles were prepared by PVA/NaBH4 system and anchored on the surface of pristine CNTs and NCNTs (Nitrogen functionalized carbon nanotubes). TEM analysis revealed that the introduction of nitrogen functionalities improves th...
متن کاملCatalytic Oxidation of Carbon Monoxide by Cobalt Oxide Catalysts Supported on Oxidized-MWCNT
Cobalt oxide catalysts supported on oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT) for the low-temperature catalytic oxidation of carbon monoxide were prepared by an impregnation-ultrasound method. These catalysts were characterized by N2 adsorption/desorption, TEM, XRD, Raman, and H2-TPR methods. The XRD and Raman results indicated that the phase of the synthesized cobalt...
متن کاملMetal Phosphate-Supported Pt Catalysts for CO Oxidation
Oxides (such as SiO₂, TiO₂, ZrO₂, Al₂O₃, Fe₂O₃, CeO₂) have often been used to prepare supported Pt catalysts for CO oxidation and other reactions, whereas metal phosphate-supported Pt catalysts for CO oxidation were rarely reported. Metal phosphates are a family of metal salts with high thermal stability and acid-base properties. Hydroxyapatite (Ca10(PO₄)₆(OH)₂, denoted as Ca-P-O here) also has...
